My Experience as a Teacher

Having achieved Foundation and Bachelor Degrees in Music Performance, and a Master’s Degree with Distinction in Creative Practice, I am qualified and knowledgeable in many facets in the music industry.

Along-side teaching, I used to work in the live production industry; as a back-line technician, rigger and drum technician, acquiring more skills and insight for those wishing to pursue any kind of career in music. Not only did my Masters' studies improve my understanding of how we learn music, but it also provided me with valuable information on the human body and brain, and how they react and develop when learning music. This means you don’t just learn the drums, but you get a body and brain work out with every lesson!

My BA Hons is in Music Performance from Leeds Metropolitan. Most of my experience has come from my travels, however. I have toured across Europe with major bands as both tech and performer, performed in major festivals, recorded at Sun Studios in Memphis and taught at the Stax Music Academy in Memphis.
