My passion for the drums started at the age of 14 and I bought my first kit when I was 16. From there, I spent around a year learning different styles and studying the world's Masters, taking influence from their style of playing.
To date, I have a Foundation Degree and BA in Music Performance, and I am studying my Master's Degree in Creative Performance, as well as running my own private drum tuition practice.
Over the years I have studied Music Technology, Events Management, Music Performance, Studio and Live Recording, Music Business Practices, and numerous genres and styles. I have recorded in many studios, including world-famous Sun Studios, the home of Elvis and the Million Dollar Quartet.
“I've been to a few drum teachers, and Tom is the best I've had. His personalised style and well-equipped studio, as well as his friendly and patient manner, makes learning comfortable. Tom will help you learn from any ability, at any age and at your own pace.”
I have acted as an ambassador for Hull College of Performing Arts to the Memphis Stax School of Music and have performed in numerous bands across the UK. I also have had plenty of experience session drumming and was lucky enough to tour with a solo artist in America.
As a drum teacher, I pride myself on my relaxed and friendly teaching style that helps my students develop with speed and confidence.
